We at Mobiah have made the tough but necessary decision to retire (or “Sunset”) the free GeoPosty API Web service and support of the WordPress plugin. As much we have loved working with so many of you to build and support what we would say has been a great free tool for business people and bloggers alike, it has run its course as a tenable free product/service within our business model.
We will be discontinuing the free GeoPosty API Web service, free support of the GeoPosty WordPress Plugin, and all related services — effective March 11, 2013.
- Paid users will continue to be made whole on their data purchases and will be allowed to extend their service indefinitely through paid usage.
- Free 10,000 hit/month IP geo service delivered through the GeoPosty plugin will continue until March 11, 2013, at which time we will officially and effectively retire the GeoPosty API, the GeoPosty Plugin, and all related support and services.
For website administrators looking for a free basic solution for IP Geo, we will be releasing a patch that will modify the existing GeoPosty plugin to connect to the Neustar IP Geo API. This API will provide you 1,000 lookups/daily (30,000/monthly) and will support all product features (Shortcodes, Maps, etc.) with the exception of all things Radius Based. Mobiah will provide hourly consulting services for those looking for hands on development support.
